Volunteering at the
Citizens Advice Bureau
The Citizens Advice
Bureau (CAB) values volunteers highly. Ninety percent of people in the
CAB Service are volunteers
Voluntary work for a CAB
can include:
- helping with office
administration
- giving advice to
clients
- serving on a CAB
management committee, aiding recruitment, developing new policy,
assisting publicity or fundraising campaigns
Fares to the CAB are
paid so that volunteers are not out of pocket
Voluntary work for a CAB
gives good experience for paid employment, both in the CAB Service and
elsewhere
CAB cares about what kind
of people its volunteers are, not what they know before they start.
So, are you a good listener? Are you willing to learn, and enjoy
helping others? Do you support equal opportunities? Can you commit
yourself to a number of hours each week? If you answer 'Yes' to all
these questions, you could become a CAB volunteer.
