Eastbourne CAB's First Ever Legal Walk - 11th July 2011 Around 70 people took part in a sponsored 10 k walk to raise funds for Eastbourne CAB. Starting from the Law Courts in Old Orchard Road at 5.30 on a sunny afternoon, the walkers were set off by the Deputy Mayor, Mike Thompson.
Teams from Care for the Carers, Eastbourne Borough Council, Childrens Centres, Stephen Lloyd's Office, Sussex Downs College, Westgate Chambers and Eastbourne CAB all set off in the direction of the golf course and up the steep hill to the Downs.
Thankfully it was a warm sunny day and the views of Eastbourne were excellent. We continued along Beachy Head and took a sharp turn down the very steep hill leading to Cow Gap.
Along the seafront with the worst behind us we all met up at the Cavendish hotel for a much deserved drink provided by Westgate Chambers - cheers!
Many thanks to Bob Nightingale from London Legal Support Trust for helping to organise the whole event Its not too late to make a donation - visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/EastbourneCitizensAdvicewalkers
